Occupational therapists help solve problems that interfere with a person’s ability to do the things that are important to them – everyday things, which include, but are not limited to:

• Productivity - going to work or school, home maintenance, meal preparation, participating in the community;

• Leisure - sports, gardening, social activities.

• In-Home Safety/Functional Assessments

  • Assessment of activities of daily living in one’s home setting

  • Offered through DVA and for private clients

• Ergonomics

  • Workplace assessments and office set-up 

  • Individual and/or group education and training

• Job Site Visits/ Analysis

  • Return to work planning after an absence due to injury or illness (LTD, WCB, etc.)

  • Assessment of a client’s workplace demands

  • Recommendations for accommodations based on a client’s abilities 

• Specialized Equipment Prescription

  • Wheelchairs and other assisted mobility devices

  • In-home recommendations to enhance safety and independence (adaptive aids, rails, ramps, etc.)
